Private Classes

Choose your own (Culinary) Adventure Classes!

We are excited to offer classes that we will customize to meet the needs of your small group! We offer hands-on classes that can accommodate 3-5 people, and demonstration style classes that can accommodate 4-10. YOU get your group together, we collaborate on an adventure, and we will work together on scheduling it to meet your needs.

Family, Friends, Co-Workers... so many possibilities!

Karin and I will be here to guide you, as well as Bill, our knife specialist!

Knife skills classes will provide direction on efficiently and safely using a chef knife to perform a variety of cuts. This class includes the preparation of a recipe like a chopped salad or Pico de Gallo to enjoy, while honing your technique.

Other classes can be either hands-on or demonstration style, such as pasta making or sushi, pie making (oooh, that crust!), using fresh herbs, basic cooking techniques, or whatever your group might be interested in learning! We have a list of ideas below, but we’re open to your suggestions as well.

Scheduling: Classes will need to be scheduled outside of business hours; 9am-11am on a Sunday, or 6:30pm-9pm on a weekday night. Sharpening or basic knife skills classes of 4 or less can happen during our slower business hours (outside of the holiday season.)

Discount: Each participant will receive 10% off all purchases at The Knife Stop and The Kitchen Loft the day of class during the 30-minute evening break or after class on Sundays, in-store only.

Ages: Typically, 14 and up, minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. (If a children’s class is desired, we may be able to design something for your group.)

Examples of costs:

$60 per person for knife sharpeningclasses (no food involved.)

$75and up per person for other classes depending on options such as the cost of ingredients and desired upgrades such as proteins (meat/fish from Sparrow or Monahan’s) or wine pairings from Everyday Wines. Samples of dishes included, of course!

Possibilities Galore!

  • Pasta Making- Make amazing pasta from scratch using basic ingredients. Once you learn the simplicity of this technique; you won't be afraid to whip it up for a family dinner!
  • Fresh Herbs- Make the most of seasonal fresh herbs from your garden or farm market! Learn to make herbal sauces like pesto and chimichurri, compound butters, add herbs to salads, and infuse oils & vinegars.

There are more options available, and we are open to your ideas as long as they work within our classroom setup. By making these private classes, we are able to cater to most food sensitivities or preferences.
